Detailed study and exploration of colour & texture, and their uses in Textile Design.

WEAVING
TECHNOLOGY-I

Students work on table looms. They learn the basic weaves to construct a complete article like a napkin or a table mat, from a simple yarn. .

Study of complex structures and colours in weaving on a 6-harness Table Loom and 8-harness Peddle Loom. They learn drafting techniques, used in the Industry and work on a project.
TEXTILE CRAFT
TEXTILE CRAFT- I

Study of various craft in our country & the basic stitches in embroidery.

TEXTILE CRAFT-II

More specialised studies in the subject, for superior skilled ability.

SURVEY PROJECT

Students select any one topic related to textiles, do detailed research and submit summation, finally as a Thesis.

NATURE STUDY

Study of life forms from Nature ( flowers, fruits & vegetables ) with emphasis on colours and textures, which contribute greatly to creative art in Textile Design.

TEXTILE HERITAGE STUDIES TEXTILE HERITAGE STUDIES-I

The history of traditional Indian textiles are taught with applied references to the future professional work, in the Industry.

TEXTILE HERITAGE STUDIES-II

An in-depth study of textiles from different Indian states, in context to contemporary trends of Industry.

PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

Management of Marketing, costing, Contract Agreements & understanding of Designers' Environment. Also, other tools in setting up/ working in Textile Industry are taught.
APPAREL DESIGN

Students develop designs in harmony with current trends.

Basic techniques in draping, pattern making & body measurement, to designing a portfolio for toddlers, are learnt.

Advanced studies in the same field, for a deeper insight into textile manufacture.


TEXTILE PORTFOLIO

This may be the most clinching factor in Job Recruitment. As it will be a visual testimony to create coherent designs on paper & Computers. The collection of diverse fabric samples, will substantiate their sophistry in discernment of apparel material.
