	Imagination leads to creation and creation leads to communication. This is a Department of the Visual Arts. Visual Imagination is the ability to give visual form to an idea or feeling. Everything that human beings make with visual imagination, is a work of visual art.         Fine art is a section of the world of Visual Art. Fine-artists are motivated by the desire to express their personal ideas and feelings. This originality and innovation are a measure of their essence but only if the innovations are significant ones, for their time and space.          To make the Journey more meaningful,the Department invites Professionals from the field. These add contemporaneity in the process of learning.          Creativity as we know, occurs in every field of Human endeavor. In the field of Arts, one has to be even more innovative, skillful and technical.

SUBJECT DETAILS

BASIC DESIGN: One learns to understand the elements and principles of Designing. Helps the Students to understand and build the design sense.

CLAY MODELLING: This develops a taste towards three dimensional forms. Rather than an illusion of 3-Dimensions upon 2-Dimensions, one learns to express /create the same, in clay and Plaster of Paris.

DRAWING: Drawing is the most basic medium of all the traditional Fine Arts. Drawing can serve as a visual aid to the memory, as a study of/for another artwork and as a finished art-work. Many techniques can be learnt within this subject.

LIFE DRAWING/PAINTING: Learning, drawing and painting with the help of objects and live models. It is a pure academic approach through drawing and rendering.

PORTRAITURE: Man has always like seeing himself in a mirror or in someone’s mind or heart. This Subject begins with the structure of a head and leads to the moods of the person.

ART APPRECIATION: Fine artists have to be trained both in techniques of their medium and in Art-History. The appraisive audience must have some knowledge of it, as well.

PRINT-MAKING: Print making involves producing more than one copy of an image, using an intermediary form. A metal plate, stone, wooden block or fabric screen are used.

METHODS & MATERIALS: This is a theory subject, which tells about the nature and use of most art materials. It is almost like a telling technique of painting.

COMPOSITION: One learns how to arrange visual elements with the help of principles. All the visual elements come into play in composition. Along with practical work, one also Studies Development of artist’s work, through the various periods of history.

HEAD STUDY: Head Study is the first step towards a journey to the world of Portraiture. The structural aspect of the study of a face is Head Study and the expressive aspect is Portraiture.

SKETCHING: Sketching is the very first impression. Sketches are quickly executed. Undetailed drawings are taught that indicate only the essentials of basic aspects of a study.

OUTDOOR STUDIES: This acts as the greater world with a panoramic perspective for an Artist. Studies from Museums, Archives, Exhibitions, Art Activities are all equally important as Outdoor Studies. They are parallel to the class room assignments.
