CONVOCATION SOUTH DELHI POLYTECHNIC FOR WOMEN
. Later in his convocation address Mr. Raj Rewal, espoused that the courses you study gives you a stepping stone in future.I consider the graduation from school is just a beginning. The courses which you have learnt here are the opening windows for future. The courses here are the Genesis. It is the kind of a comma or a full stop of a paragraph, so we should consider it as a beginning, not the end. He emphasized on a point that you have to learn all of your life whether you work in any organization, family or run any of your company. You have such diverse different faculty members. It’s very interesting to know that students from different parts of country have gathered here. The vocational courses here are flexible, than any other university courses, to move in any direction. It’s a major achievement for the Polytechnic. I wish you a great success to all the faculty and especially to the students.
I will not call you a student because relationship between student and faculty is of friendship. This is a vocational institute which give you different courses, but most people think that vocational courses is entirely of narrow limited areas, but education means learning, knowledge, wisdom; all combinations together. It is expertise in diverse areas and an orientation to careers. We are aiming more towards developing artistic minds so that it is a combined development. In the end, he concluded that the thing which touched me most that one of my student send me a greeting card many years later simply saying ‘Thanks for everything!’ That really summed it up;
The Founder Director Ashima Chaudhuri concluded in an appreciative acknowledgement to all students for believing in vocational education and coming here to learn practical skills.Her parting message to students was that in the age of the Internet, ‘Be techno-friendly but do not forget the heritage of your land, when you lead our Nation forward. Jai Hind!’ The Polytechnic offers 21 vocational courses.
